Brooklyn’s Playground in Pocatello

The goal of the Buddy Walk® is to promote understanding and acceptance of people with Down syndrome. Whether you have Down syndrome, know someone who does or just want to show your support, come and join our Buddy Walk®!

Event Information

Join us at Brooklyn's Playground at OK Ward Park, 1400 W. Quinn Rd, in Pocatello, Idaho on Saturday, September 16, 2017 from 9:00 am to noon.

This year we are again partnering with Brooklyn's Buddies Breakfast for breakfast before the walk!  Breakfast will include pancakes, eggs, sausage, juice, milk and coffee.  Proceeds from the walk will go towards the maintenance costs for Brooklyn's Playground.

Register ONLINE until September 14, 2017 at midnight.  Prices are $15 for adults and $10 for children ages 12 and under.  NEW THIS YEAR, there is an option to register for a Team!   A team is comprised of 4 to 8 individuals.  Make sure not to select the Child button for your team since it will add $10 to your registration fee (a glitch in the system this year).  You can select T-shirt sizes for each team member and the total cost is $50!  For up to 8 people.

Individuals with disabilities, including Down Syndrome, pay $0.  Register in person the day of the walk for $20, individuals with disabilities, including Down syndrome, pay $0.  Unfortunately, those who register the morning of the event will not be able to receive t-shirts.

Walk starts at 10:30 am.  Breakfast will be served before the walk and is included in the registration price.  T-shirts will be available to those who have pre-registered.

Funds raised from last year's Buddy Walk went to maintain Brooklyn's Playground, to help with medical costs for children who were born with Down syndrome in South East Idaho, to provide a free gym day for families at Popov Gymnastics and to support the local Special Olympics teams.

Please consider asking your employer if they have a matching funds program for non-profit organizations (501c3).  Funds raised from this event will go to support our local SouthEast Idaho Down Syndrome Support Group as well as the National Down Syndrome Society.
